Acceptance and Commitment Therapy emphasizes acceptance and mindfulness for dealing with unpleasant thoughts, feelings or memories. It also encourages increased commitment to behaviors that uphold the client’s core values.
Exposure with Response Prevention is a type of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy that encourages you to face your fears and let obsessive thoughts occur without 'putting them right' or 'neutralizing' them with compulsions or avoidance behaviors.
Types of exposures include in-vivo, electronic (using Amelia Care Virtual Reality Technology), imaginal and interoceptive.
Group members discuss the impact of their anxiety-based disorder and/or eating issues on their social, occupational, school, or family functioning.
Clients identify core values, take personality assessments, write their life story timeline and narrative, as well as hone skills used in everyday life, including conversation, assertiveness, scheduling and goal-setting.
Optional sessions with the clinical director that provide continued education and an interactive forum for our clients’ Caregivers to grow their understanding of anxiety-based disorders.
